Standing on a natural hill three miles west of Nottingham City Centre, Wollaton Hall is set in five hundred acres of spectacular gardens and parkland.

On site, in addition to the historic hall and its sumptuous grounds, visitors will find Nottingham's Natural History Museum, Nottingham's Industrial Museum and the Yard Gallery.

Ruddington Framework Knitters Museum
Step back in time. Come and see this unique complex of listed frameshops, cottages and outbuildings arranged around a garden courtyard, together with a former chapel in which many of the knitters worshipped. The site has been restored to show the living and working conditions of the framework knitters who occupied it throughout the nineteenth centuy.

Ruddington Framework Knitters' Museum is a small independent working museum, established by the efforts of the local community, which saved it from the bulldozer and put it under the control of a charitable Trust.

Nottingham Transport Heritage Centre
The Nottingham Transport Heritage Centre is the home of the preserved Great Central Railway in Nottinghamshire and is based in Ruddington alongside Rushcliffe Country Park.

Along with access to nearly 10 miles of the ex. GCR mainline in Nottinghamshire, the Centre is host to a road and rail transport heritage vehicle collection, the Nottingham Society of Model & Experimental Engineers, a large model railway and the GCR Rolling Stock Trust.

Industrial Museum
Discover a wonderful display of textile, transport and technology from Nottingham's past. See the Basford Beam Engine, see a fully operational analogue telephone network working whilst you chat, a display of bicycles and vehicles linked to the city. Includes some of the most important lace making machinery that put Nottingham on the textile map forever.

Today the museum holds collections that portray the importance of Nottingham as a city built upon industry and reflect the wide diversity of these industries...
